Silverstone April 2022.

Effectively our first race meeting of the year after engine issues plagued Round 1 at Donington.

What a great start to the year it was with a bumper grid of over 30 cars entered.

We collected the new engine at 11.30pm Wednesday night, and after over 40 hours continual work we where at Silverstone and ready for the Friday test day.

We made lots of changes and finally started on some set up work, which paid dividends as we secured our first pole position on the Saturday, and just under the lap record.

Moving into the race and we dropped down to around 20th after taking avoiding action from a near certain big accident, as 1st and 3rd place came together. This left our CSP1 car with lots to do, but over the course of the race worked its way back up to second just behind the race winner in the other CSP1 Phantom.

We achieved fastest lap in race 1 which sets the grid for the Sundays race, and this time we managed to win. The first for the brand new PR22.

Race 3 saw a fast starting Mark Charteris leap frog two rows and take the lead. After a close fought battle for 5 or so laps we dropped back, struggling with left front tyre graining and had to settle for P2 in class and third overall.

From the week we had in the build up to this event it was an outstanding result, and a huge achievement to be there let alone win a race.

Lots learnt and more updates to come for Brands GP in May.

Matt in our CSP2 Phantom had an electrical issue in qualifying but fought back exceptionally well to secure P4 and 2 x P2s in class. We are currently making improvements to increase his straight line speed to challenge the class leader, more to come here too.
