We had our first meeting of the year at Donington Park on the 10th April.
Alex Champkin was entered in the CSP2 class Phantom after two years out, and after some set up work on the Friday afternoon was running at the front of the pack in CSP2 and a successful weekend.
Qualifying in 2nd position put Alex in a good position for the race start, after a slow get away and some overtakes he came through with the class lead after the first lap.
This lead was held to the end and a great result for Phantom and Alex on his return to the CSP2 class.
Race two was slightly trickier, Alex managed a good start and had the lead for the first half of the race, but Michelle Hayward was closing in and got passed, leaving us with 2nd place, 2 seconds behind the class winner.
The next event is Silverstone, where last seasons competition winner Mathieu Thornton will be behind the wheel of the CSP2 Phantom.
